Catching Up... Again

If you haven't heard, I've been busy trying to keep up with a challenge on You Tube launched by Marion Smith of Prima fame! Her challenge lasts 31 Days, requires 31 videos and 31 goals! You can get to my You Tube channel here. Updating my blog today was so important to me that I made it my Day 8 challenge!

Other than that I actually hosted a crop last night!  I don't know if you heard but we had a little bit of snow that then froze into black ice yesterday just before rush hour.  Apparently, the roads in Northern Kentucky were not salted ahead of time and there were 86 accidents in our county alone! I want to thank the three brave souls, Charlene, Juliet and Lynne who joined me last night for the crop!  Luckily, I had sanded the driveway, and the path all the way down to the craft room so none of my frieneds were included in the statistics!!

This morning I taught a scrapbooking class right here in my craftroom! Six wonderful ladies, all of them teachers, came over and we did three, 2 page layouts that I had designed using the Echo Park Wintertime collection!I had a great time! A special thanks to Sharon for getting the group together!

I am also working on a mini album, nothing terribly fancy, but for my friends in Florida, Hubby said that since we were going to Destin, for my DMIL's birthday festivities, he thought it would be a great idea to go down and see my friends in Tampa!  WooHoo!  I am really looking forward to it and I'll be calling someone with the initials MLF(M) Monday to ask if she'll put me up for a couple of nights!!!  So if you know me, you know that I'm prepping the mini album to put in my pictures and journal my trip! I can't wait!

Busy Bee Buzzes In - January 2nd, 2011

Well it has been a few days since I actually wrote anything here, so I thought I'd drop in for a chat tonight! What a holiday season its been! We went down to my mother -in-law's place in North Carolina and got stuck in all that snow! And I mean that literally! While all that snow was beautiful, sliding off the road while backing down a hill in order to get some launching space to get up a huge very steep hill did neither Hubby and I nor the car any good! We had to grab a couple of things out of the car and hike up the hill in order to even get a cell phone signal to call for my two brother-in-laws to come and get us in the 4 wheel drive SUV! That was Christmas morning. The whole bunch of us, 8 adults and 4 kids under 5 ended up suck there for three days! We just about ran out of milk for the babies! For the most part, I've got to admit that I enjoyed the children... alot!!!


 Once we were able to drive out of there, our car started screeching like crazy. We drove for over an hour before we found a place with a mechanic! While they were not able to get the part needed and informed us that we would also need two new tires, they did get us back on the road safely and only charged us $40 despite working for nearly an hour, taking the wheels off and alligning the fron tires!
A call to the dealership revealed that they would have to order the part needed and that the repairs would cost an estimated $670! Merry Christmas folks!
Next one day after getting home I got a cold, so I'm not feeling all that chipper! But I am thrilled! I now have over 100 people subscribing to my YouTube channel!

Christmas Decorated Tim Holtz Composition Box

I first saw this box at summer CHA in Chicago and thought, I've got to try this!  Well this is how my version of the box came out!  There is a video on my YouTube channel, but I think you get to see more on the pictures!  I hope that you like it!

Christmas Challenges

Have you ever wondered why it is that we have turned Christmas (the Holiday Season) into the world's most stressful time of year? I wonder sometimes what the ratio is between the fun days and the stressed out days, especially for the ones in the family that plan the trips, make the purchases, do the wrapping, plan the menus and get the house ready!

It's been a few years since I've put up a tree, mainly because there is no one really to see it or to care and it seems like a whole lot of work for not much reason.  I do a minimal amount of decoration, hang the stockings and that is that! I actually love figuring what to get people, and for the most part, although my brother-in-law and I are the ones that push the hardest for wish lists, I'm usually the one that doesn't buy from theirs!  Call me the Christmas rebel, LOL!

So do tell, how special is Christmas or are the Holidays for you! How much do you decorate? How many people will surround you during the holidays! What is your biggest wish for the holidays? And no, you can't say world peace; we all want world peace!

Christmas Card and Last Call for the Christmas Giveaway!

I made this card for the aunt of a friend of mine who loves cardinals. I used Distress Inks and a glossy cardinal sticker as well as the Winter Doves stapm from Stacey Stamps. I cleaned off the ink from the doves before actually stamping the image!
