The Value of "Real" Cards

I was over reading my friend Sue's blog a couple of mornings ago and her post struck me, not just because it was funny, and the card she made was gorgeous, though all her cards are, but because it reminded me of the value of actually sending all those cards that some of us like to make!

I've made a ton of cards recently, including the one in the picture. Most of the cards I've made will go out in the mail to a single person as part of a gift. Some I have already sent out. But like many people, I have a tendancy, when I want to tell someone happy birthday or get well, to just send them an email or post it on facebook. While that is well and good and even acceptable in this day and age, I'll bet that most of you are like me and are just tickled pink when you get something personal, a card or a note in the mail. Sometimes, the card we send isn't funny, like the last card I sent just last week, but I know my world is always a brighter place when I see a handwritten envelope with a friend's return address in my mailbox. So I'll be making more cards in the near future including a batch of, "Thinking of You" and put them out in the mail!

Have a great day!

Can it be Dark and Dreary and a Great Day?

I picked out the colors for my dollhouse today!  Yup, finally took the plunge.  I selected three colours for it, all on the historical registry. Not sure that was really important as my house is going to be a reflection of everything I like, can find or make at a reasonable price. The middle color will be on the main body of the house, the beige color will be the trim and the windows will be the not quite white on the right.  And if I don't like it when it's done, I'll just paint it again, lol.  Though I've agonized on the color, it is after all a dollhouse and the cost of the paint isn't excrutiating!

I'm also working on a sample for an address book... yes I know I've got an iPhone and a computer, but I'd like a paper backup, LOL!  Haven't you lost your address list at least once when you changed cell phones and then your computer which you were relying on to keep your backup safe crashed? I still haven't recovered all the numbers from the last crash and besides a friend of mine, Barb in Sask said she wanted one.  I'm making this from scratch cardboard sheets and truly enjoying the process!

Though as you can tell, I'm a messy scrapper!

I haven't decided if I should use rings, or my zutter with wires.  What do you think? Just looking at the picture of my mess, I think Melody Ross, would like my mess!  I'll have to ask her!
